Yesterday we posted about the new POUR 24 opening at the New York New York today (Nov 26) and today they were kind enough to send over a list of the different beers they will be featuring. That is a pretty good lineup and I can see it doing well at the new location.

New Spanish City Modeled Aftered Las Vegas

Monday, November 26th, 2007

What works for the American has to work for the Spanish, doesn’t it? Well that is the thought behind an ambitious new Spanish project to be revealed next month. Plans include the building of a new “casino city” in the desert which includes 32 hotels, five theme parks. The city will be spread over 5,000 acres and in order to add some Las Vegas flare, it may even feature “wedding chapels” to encourage honeymoon tourism. Plans also include a stadium and a conference center.

Among the planned casino themes, will be a sweep of history, featuring cavemen croupiers, Roman centurions or courtiers from the time of France’s Louis XIV – not to mention agents of the KGB.

“This is going to be a new version of Las Vegas in Europe,” said a spokesman for Aristocrat Technologies, an Australian gaming company involved in the project. “It’s going to bring lots of jobs. Disneyland Paris will be tiny in comparison.”

It does sound interesting, but I wonder if this is really going to be another Las Vegas or will it end up being another Atlantic City?

The area used to the habitat will be renovated and turned into a quick bite restaurant called BLT Burger, due to open in the spring.
